Floral waters
Floral waters and hydrolates
Floral waters are created by the gentle distillation of flowers and herbs and carry their scent within. They refresh the skin, give it moisture and prepare it for serum and cream. Simply mist them over your face and slow down for a moment.

Which floral water to choose
Every floral water has its own character. Damask rose is a rose water for all skin types – it brings mature, dry and sensitive skin freshness, moisture and a radiant look. Roman chamomile is a gentle ritual for sensitive skin and also suits children's skin. Italian immortelle will be loved by mature skin that longs for calm and radiance.
Cornflower finishes cleansing after make-up removal and does tired eyes good as a compress of dampened cotton pads. Peppermint is a fresh touch for oily skin and for skin after the sun. Lavender water from common lavender grown in Slovakia is a faithful companion to oil serums.

How to use a hydrolate on your skin and hair
After removing make-up, mist the floral water over your face or apply it with a cotton pad as a natural facial water. Then press a serum or a face oil into the damp skin and seal in your care with a cream. You can use a hydrolate for hair just as gently: a few spritzes of peppermint water refresh the scalp and make combing easier. The scalp also enjoys rose and chamomile water.
It is best to use up an opened floral water within about six months. Use it with clean hands and keep it away from heat sources and direct sunlight.
Lavender water for your skin
Lavender floral water from common lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) suits all skin types, especially sensitive skin. It moisturises and tones the skin, and lavender calms not only the skin but the mind as well. You can also sprinkle it over bed linen before ironing – falling asleep is then scented with lavender.
Floral water after shaving
Men enjoy floral waters too. Italian immortelle serves as a gentle aftershave water and as a mist to refresh the skin, while peppermint water soothes and refreshes skin after shaving. Simply mist them over freshly shaved skin and let them soak in.
Floral water or toner?
A floral water is the pure hydrolate of a single plant. If you are looking for a facial water with further active ingredients, take a look among the toners – for example Báthoryčka with dragon's blood for a youthful and radiant look of the skin.
