Tinctures for the musculoskeletal system

Tinctures for joints and muscles

Tinctures for the musculoskeletal system combine two traditions: herbal drops for internal use and massage tinctures with comfrey for hard-working backs, knees and calves. We make them in our own production in the EU from herbs that have been used here for generations.

How to choose a tincture for joints and muscles

For massaging the back, knees, elbows and neck there is Comfrey & Lavender. Comfrey & Horse chestnut, with chestnut and lavender, brings a feeling of lightness to tired legs. Both are for external use only. For internal use as a food supplement we offer field horsetail, wild teasel and the Chestnut tincture made from the flower of the horse chestnut.

How to use a comfrey tincture

Apply the Comfrey & Lavender and Comfrey & Horse chestnut massage tinctures to intact skin on the strained area and massage in thoroughly. Comfrey & Lavender can be used several times a day, but for no more than 20 days in a row. The tinctures are for external use only; do not apply them to open wounds, the eyes or mucous membranes, and they are not suitable for children.

Chestnut tincture for massage or to drink

The chestnut tincture comes in two forms here. For massaging tired legs there is Comfrey & Horse chestnut, where chestnut meets comfrey and lavender. The Chestnut tincture from the flower of the horse chestnut is a food supplement: 20 drops three times a day on an empty stomach, taken with 200 ml of water or tea.

Field horsetail and wild teasel

Field horsetail (Equisetum arvense) is gathered as green herb, while wild teasel (Dipsacus fullonum) is the herb from whose root the tincture is prepared. Take both at 20 drops three times a day, with water. We write about both herbs in more detail on the blog as well. A food supplement is not a substitute for a varied diet. If you are taking medication, or are pregnant or breastfeeding, talk to your doctor or pharmacist before use.

Care in the colder months

In winter, muscles are often stiff after time spent outdoors. After a walk, treat yourself to a warm shower and then a slow massage. For warming care for the skin, you will find herbal ointments among the balms and creams for joints.
