How to choose a herbal balm
A warming massage cream will be loved by stiff backs, shoulders and knees on cold days. You can choose from the gel with formic acid and common comfrey, the Fly agaric body balm or the cream-balm with comfrey and bee venom. A cooling feeling comes from the cooling gel-balm with mountain arnica and menthol, and for tired legs there is the cream-balm Venotonik with horse chestnut.
Irritated skin is soothed by the Chaga cream-balm with sea buckthorn and tea tree oil. You will find balms by ingredient in the categories with bee venom, with snake venom and with badger fat.

How to use herbal creams and balms
Apply a small amount of the herbal balm to clean, dry skin and massage it in with circular movements until it is completely absorbed. Two to three massages a day are enough for most balms. After the massage, wash your hands and take care that the balm does not get into your eyes or onto mucous membranes. Do not apply it to damaged skin.
A warming or a cooling balm?
Warming balms with camphor, chilli pepper, bee venom or methyl nicotinate gently warm the area and suit stiff backs, necks and knees, especially in cold weather. Cooling gels with menthol and eucalyptus refresh after sport, after a long walk or on warm days. If you have come to love the traditional Tiger Balm with camphor, menthol and clove oil, you will appreciate its small handbag-sized pack.
Try the balm on a small area first
Warming ingredients, bee venom and essential oils can surprise sensitive skin. Before your first massage, apply a little balm to the inside of your forearm and see how your skin reacts. If you are allergic to bee products, choose balms without bee venom. During pregnancy, while breastfeeding and for small children, consult a doctor before use.
Herbal balms in winter
When it turns cold outside, treat yourself in the evening to a warm shower and then a slow massage with a warming balm. Wrap the massaged area in a woollen scarf or warm socks and let the warmth do its work. For dry skin on hands, elbows and heels, nourishing badger fat suits winter well.
