Urucum for a tan
Urucum tan activator is made from the seed powder of the tropical plant Bixa orellana, already used by Indigenous peoples in the Amazon basin. Urucum is rich in beta-carotene and prepares the skin for sunbathing. The line smells of summer, and in October it suits a holiday by the warm sea.

How to choose from the Urucum line
A classic is the oil-based Mucuru® Urucum tan activator with almond oil and the oriental-floral scent Original. It is not too greasy, and a thin layer massaged into clean skin is enough. Whoever prefers a solid texture will reach for the Mucuru® summer butter with golden seaweed. Coconut oil, shea and cocoa butter melt on the skin into a soft oil.
At home, the Urucum shower gel with a coconut scent, which can also be used as a shampoo, will remind you of summer. You will find further products in the tan activators category.

How to use the Urucum tan activator
Shake the activator before use. Apply a thin layer to clean skin on the body and face and massage it in with circular movements. Urucum seeds are naturally rich in beta-carotene and give the activator its typical orange colour. In the sun the skin then takes on a naturally golden tone, and the activator smells pleasant on it.
Oil or butter for tanning?
The oil-based activator spreads easily and suits large areas and the face. The Mucuru® summer butter is solid, melts in your palms and on the skin, and with shea and cocoa butter nourishes the skin at the same time. Neither contains UV filters. For a longer stay in the sun, therefore, apply them only over a product with sun protection, and seek shade between 11 am and 3 pm.
How to prepare the skin for sunbathing
The day before, treat yourself to a gentle scrub that smooths the skin. Drink enough water and include foods rich in beta-carotene in your diet, such as carrots. After the sun, take a shower and hydrate the skin well.
Urucum in autumn and winter
A tan activator also suits the time outside summer, for an autumn or winter holiday by the warm sea. At home, the Urucum shower gel with aloe vera and panthenol then recalls the scent of summer. On damp skin it works up into a rich lather, gently cleanses the whole body and leaves the skin soft and lightly scented.
